Before Morgan, there was Daphne, the girl who asked too many questions and changed everything... This original enovella set in the world of The Internment Chronicles is a gripping prequel to Perfect Ruin.
In this look back at Daphne, before her subversive paper led to her murder by order of the king, Daphne witnesses her seven-year-old sister Amy having a seizure-like event, a result of injuries sustained when she wandered too close to the Edge. Government doctors insist these seizures are punishment for Amy’s bad behavior, but Daphne disagrees. Obsessed with finding out what lured her sister out there to the Edge to begin with, Daphne leads Judas, her betrothed, a young man with his own secrets, on an expedition near the Edge to reconstruct her sister’s fateful event. But how close is too close?
No Intention of Dying The Internment Chronicles eBook Lauren DeStefano
Loved hearing Daphne's true voice instead of her being dissected from her essay in the first book. Leaves a lot of hope for the series and answers to come.Product details

No Intention of Dying The Internment Chronicles eBook Lauren DeStefano Reviews
The book was really short and didn't really serve a purpose. It wasn't really what I thought it was gonna be.
Too short for the price of the story. Added nothing to the plot that wasn't already there. I'm normally a huge fan of DeStefano, but this really let me down.
It was ok, too short though. I wish it had went on longer. It felt like a prologue chapter Lauren wrote for the book but took out and made an ebook.
I wanted so much more than this! Love that it sucked me right back into the story though. More please 😀
This story gave a nice glimpse into life when Daphne was alive. It was interesting to see her with Judas but I felt that the short length limited how well we were able to get to know Daphne and Judas as he was with his betrothed.
I love this author and her books very much. She is one of my favorites. However this short story is even more short than most of these digital short stories and $1.99 made me feel a little bit taken. .99 cents would have been a more reasonable price for what we get here. It's been over a year since I read "Perfect Ruin" and this story doesn't even feature one of the main characters. Prior to this being release, most fans seemed to hope this would be a prequel about Lex, instead it features Daphne. And honestly, before it starts, the story is over. It added nothing, as far as I can tell, to the series.
Loved hearing Daphne's true voice instead of her being dissected from her essay in the first book. Leaves a lot of hope for the series and answers to come.
